Hello Friend 👋
Here are Seven Things I was curious about this week:
Data Humanism: It’s time for another AIXD meetup next week where Data Science meets Design. We’ll explore how to tell meaningful stories with sentiment analysis and visualisation. Please come join us.
Product: Seth Godin about what helps your product make the move from a small audience of early adopters to piquing the interest of the early majority. It’s not marketing.
AI: The first commercial quantum computer is in the making.
Data visualisation · Fashion: Georgia Lupi’s dresses visualise the stories of three trailblazing women scientists.
Future of work: I’ve found myself wondering if those offices that will persist might shift away from open-plan layouts again. Could something like this restored building from 1952 be the future? A part of me at least hopes so.
Environment: Pawprint tells you your carbon footprint. I, for one, found that the majority of emissions I cause these days doesn’t come from the usual suspects at all. In COVID times, it’s no longer flights or a meat-heavy diet, but books and magazines. Whowouldathought?
Fun: I learned that these adorable, seemingly made-up creatures are actually real. They’re called Valais Blacknose Sheep.
