Hi all, and welcome to the first instalment of this newsletter.
Here are Seven Things I’d like to share with you:
Last Wednesday was my birthday. It really helped put things into perspective.
A great way to spend some extra me-time in lockdown has been sketching. Give it a try, even if you don’t really like the results that much.
One difficult challenge in any creative pursuit is finding your style. Taking inspiration from others is great, but I like to not dwell on their work for too long.
At work, I had the honour (and responsibility. Yikes!) to give a speech on my outgoing boss. I approached this as a design challenge and came up with what I think is a pretty helpful template for giving toasts.
If you’ve ever sent out a survey, you’ll know that they are really easy to create, but hard to get right. It’s why I dedicate not one, but two episodes in my podcast to this topic. You can listen to the first part of the series today. The next one comes out tomorrow.
We’re starting a meetup with work! It’s for designers and data professionals. The first event will look at the collaboration between the two disciplines and take place online on 13 May.
Austin Kleon has served me with a ton of inspiration over the years. This newsletter is stolen from him in many ways. I’m sure you can steal much from him too. He seems to like it.
Thank you for being curious with me. If you think someone else might enjoy this newsletter, please forward it to them or invite them to subscribe.
PS: You can’t reply to this email, but I always love a kind message.
