After a week of taking in information every day, how much of it do you actually remember?
You, and I, and most other people with easy access to the internet: we have an information abundance problem. We read, we listen, we watch, but in the end, we retain very little of it.
Wouldn’t it be if at the end of each week, we were left with a handful of snippets and references worth keeping, safe in our inboxes, ready for our weekend reading ritual?
Welcome to Seven Things by me, Thomas Essl. I'm a designer who writes and the producer of the Product Nuggets podcast. Now I am inviting you on my latest adventure. As with much of my work, I will keep it simple, bringing you the top seven things I make, find, or think about, every Saturday morning ready for you to explore.
Why seven, you ask? It’s a rule of thumb in Design, an old myth, really, that people can absorb about seven pieces of information at any given time. I also thought it just had a nice ring to it.
Making my living by designing digital experiences for companies like Google and successfully launched startups, my Seven Things tend to gravitate around the domains of Design, Data, Product Development, and how to build successful product teams. But we’re all multi-dimensional people, so trust that you’ll also find ideas for weekend activities, thoughts on well-being, and whatever else grips my attention.
I’m excited to share these things with you. Join the club! And don’t forget to tell your friends!
