Hello Friend π
Here are Seven Things I was curious about this week:
Product development: This Medium post on how Design is eating code is adding a few more angles to my theory on how the role of Design is undergoing a transformation.
Product development: Iβve been reading up on contemporary theories and frameworks for product vision, mission, principles and strategy. Of course, I ended up at the Svpg blog once again, which offered some helpful examples of what good looks like.
Startup: Once youβve got a product and some traction, it might be time to stop DIYing your startup.
AI: Venture capital in AI is shifting away from βconceptβ startups towards βthe vertical application of AI in which startups are taking technologies that already exist such as image or voice recognition and building industry- and enterprise-specific applicationsβ.
Self-driving: Hereβs a WSJ video with a number of reasons for why autonomous driving is thriving in China.
Digital wellbeing: You can now plant trees while maximising your focus time with the Forest app.
Environment: Having hiked through Patagonia two years ago, I found these before-and-after images of its glaciers deeply troubling (albeit beautiful). But I also found a shimmer of hope this week that moved me deeply: While hiking the plateau of Mt.Rax in my native Austria, I found - for the first time ever - actual, real-life Edelweiss, the fragile little flowers made famous by The Sound of Music and the first to be put under protection ever in 1886.
