Hello Friend 👋
Here are Seven Things I thought were worth sharing this week:
Product development: Too many great projects get stuck at the idea phase - with teams either struggling to focus on one concept or going with what will turn out to be one that's not right. In the latest episode of Product Nuggets, I share one simple technique to help find out where innovation can make a real difference.
AI: A new approach to machine learning, called deep-teaching, lets self-driving cars train themselves and navigate roads they never saw before with just one camera, cutting costs by 100.000x.
Design: Great design often is in the details. I was reminded of the website Little Big Details, which hosts collections of clever micro patterns.
Data visualisation: Digital Sculptures Visualize Chirps of Amazonian Birds in a Responsive Artwork by Andy Thomas
Big Tech: Facebook has launched an app for crowdsourced predictions about global events. Here’s to hoping it won’t make it past the invite-only test phase.
Advertising: The Nike ad “You Can’t Stop Us” went viral, with its message of inclusiveness and perseverance.
Inspiring people: The African-American Irish dancer Morgan Bullock was accused of cultural appropriation, but followed her passion anyways. Now she dances with the most eminent Irish Dance group.
