Hello, again!
Here are Seven Things that were on my mind this week:
There have been some incredible Augmented Reality concepts flying around lately. Still, the technology doesn’t seem to make it into the mainstream. I can’t help but wonder why. Because this. Is awesome.
“I’m sorry I don’t read enough books to be talking about this.” - A comedy gig by Joel Kim Booster reminded me that we often perpetuate false information in the form of assumptions. I now try to remind myself of doing a better job checking them before passing them on, at home and at work.
I’ve been re-reading Abby Covert’s “How to Make Sense of any Mess”. It really is the best example of someone demystifying their discipline (in this case Information Architecture) and making it accessible to others, completely ignoring silos. I enjoyed it so much that I sent my PM friend a copy, who loved it too.
I found an old draft for a post on how overlooked opportunities in re-designing enterprise systems are and thought it was more relevant than ever, so I finished it.
It’s amazing how wanting to change just one line of code suddenly turns into wondering why it’s already past midnight. It happened twice to me this week when making some tweaks to my website - in particular the blog pages for a better reading experience. You can judge if it was worthwhile.
We can’t go on hikes, but one can dream. Craig Mod’s newsletter Ridgeline makes that easier. It’s a wonderful collection of photo-essays about his hikes in Japan and elsewhere.
After two months I finally succumbed and became a sourdough bro. I’m pretty proud, I must say:
Thank you for being curious with me. If you think someone else might enjoy this newsletter, please forward it to them. If you haven’t yet, you can subscribe here.
